This June, our students are diving into one of nature’s most exciting wonders—VOLCANOES! At Tiny Chef’s Kitchen Enrichment & STEM Academy, we believe children learn best when they can touch, create, experiment, and explore. That’s why our volcano unit combines science, cooking, engineering, art, and hands-on discovery. Learning About Volcanoes Students will explore: What volcanoes are How volcanoes form The different types of volcanoes Famous volcanoes around the world How lava, magma, and eruptions work The role volcanoes play in shaping our planet Through age-appropriate lessons, students from Kindergarten through 8th grade will discover the science behind these incredible natural phenomena. Volcano Cakes in the Kitchen One of our favorite activities this month is making edible volcano cakes! Students will: Practice measuring and following recipes Learn basic kitchen skills Observe chemical reactions Decorate their own volcano-themed creations The best part? They get to enjoy their delicious science experiment when they’re finished! Build It, Design It, Erupt It! Our young engineers will design and build their own volcano models using a variety of materials. Students will learn about structure, design, and creativity while constructing their volcanoes. Then comes the exciting part—the eruption! Students will safely create volcanic eruptions outdoors and observe the reaction firsthand. Watching their volcanoes come to life is always a favorite experience. Volcano Crafts and Creative Projects Throughout the month, students will create volcano-themed art and STEM projects that encourage creativity while reinforcing scientific concepts. From painting volcanic landscapes to designing 3D volcano models, there will be plenty of opportunities for imagination and hands-on learning. Why Hands-On Learning Matters Research shows that children retain information better when they actively participate in the learning process. By cooking, building, experimenting, and creating, students gain a deeper understanding of scientific concepts while developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills. At Tiny Chef’s Kitchen Enrichment & STEM Academy, we turn learning into an adventure. Join the Fun! Our year-round microschool serves Kindergarten through 8th grade students through hands-on, project-based learning experiences. Whether we’re cooking, gardening, building, experimenting, or exploring STEM concepts, every day is filled with opportunities to learn and grow. This June, we’re excited to discover the explosive world of volcanoes together! Now enrolling for summer and fall programs! Tiny Chef’s Kitchen Enrichment & STEM Academy Where learning is hands-on, engaging, and unforgettable.
